I have a Saturday morning program on our local radio station WALHradio.com which I am calling Patsy’s Porch. Each week my visitors are invited to come on up, grab a cup off the red plastic tray over there in the corner, pour themselves a cup of coffee or make a cup of tea, and wander on over and take a seat. Each half-hour program is built around a theme so for example, this coming Saturday, October 31 we’ll celebrate Halloween beginning with a couple of scary tunes: The Monster Mash and One-eyed, One-horned Flying Purple Eater to get us in the mood. I have rounded up some wonderful tales of haunted houses and ghosts floating around several farms down in Athens County, Ohio. The following week we’ll revisit the legends and facts surrounding the ill-fated Edmund Fitzgerald which went down in Lake Superior on November 9th and 10th in 1975. And of course I’ve invited Gordon Lightfoot to do the musical honors that day.
You too can join me on Patsy’s Porch every Saturday at 9am EST by selecting WALHradio.com and turning up the volume. I hope to see you there.
We will begin a month of poetry and poems – poets and balladeers – in February. I hope you will join us on Patsy’s Porch
